As many of you know Frederick, MD is home to an abundance of celebrated restaurants. As the holiday season approaches, I felt it would be helpful for me, as someone who has grown up in the Frederick community to share my personal recommendations for the best casual, every day, and special occasion restaurants in the area.
Casual Dining
Baltimore Coffee and Tea Co.
Location: 5209 Presidents Ct, Frederick, MD 21703
About: Located near the Westview Shopping Center, Baltimore Coffee Co. is convenient and easy to access on the way to and from SJCP. Primarily serving coffee, tea, sandwiches, and muffins, it makes an excellent place to pick up breakfast on the way to school or to grab a coffee on the weekend.
CAVA
Location: 5615 Spectrum Dr, Frederick, MD 21703
About: CAVA is a casual Mediterranean restaurant with locations throughout Maryland. Serving salads, grain bowls, and pitas. CAVA makes a perfect choice for casual lunch out.
Delizia Café
Location: 14 E Patrick St, Frederick, MD 21701
About: Opening this past spring, Delizia is a relatively new addition to the Frederick restaurant scene located on Patrick street in close proximity to shopping and other activities. Serving paninis, salads, and specialty coffee, Delizia is an excellent place to stop for an Almond Rose Caffé Latte while exploring downtown.

Manalú

About: Also located near the Westview Shopping Center, Manalú serves traditional Italian favorites such as chicken, seafood, and a variety of pasta dishes; reservations are recommended on weekends.
The Orchard
Location: 45 N Market St, Frederick, MD 21701
About: Serving Frederick for over 30 years, the Orchard is a staple in downtown dining. They specialize in fresh salads, homemade bread, and stir-fries in addition to providing a variety of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options as well as chicken and seafood. The Orchard is a perfect choice for those looking to grab lunch or light dinner downtown.
Isabella’s Taverna & Tapas
Location: 44 N Market St, Frederick, MD 21701
About: Specializing in tapas and Spanish cuisine, Isabella’s features a variety of unique menu items such as paella and asparagus fries – perfect for sharing with friends. Also located on North Market Street, their outdoor seating area is perfect for enjoying the downtown atmosphere making Isabella’s another favorite among Frederick residents.

The Tasting Room
Location: 101 N Market St, Frederick, MD 21701
About: My personal favorite restaurant on this list, The Tasting Room features upscale American fare with European influence in a contemporary setting. Perfect for celebrating special occasions or enjoying the holidays with family. The Tasting Room is always an exceptional choice when dining in Frederick.
*Note – ask about their gelato when ordering dessert!
Dutch’s Daughter
Location: 581 Himes Ave, Frederick, MD 21703
About: Dutch’s Daughter offers classic American fare suitable to a variety of tastes. The restaurant features a formal dining room, and event space upstairs, in addition to The Dungeon, a casual downstairs bar, and a patio. Dutch’s Daughter also features an incredibly popular Thanksgiving dinner, an excellent and stress-free way to enjoy the holidays.
The Wine Kitchen
Location: 50 Carroll Creek Way #160, Frederick, MD 21701
About: Located directly on Carroll Creek, the Wine Kitchen offers stunning views of the water adorned with festively decorated boats during the holiday season. The menu features a cheese and charcuterie board in addition to a wide selection of steak and seafood options including a daily butcher’s flight as well as a seasonal pumpkin pie cheesecake for dessert.
